About

A recital of much-loved classic music for Cello and Piano from the European Baroque (Bach) and Romantic traditions (Brahms, Rachmaninov), and 20th century Brazil (Villa Lobos), in this beautiful natural art installation. S'celo-Chris Njapha has won awards as a cellist from Stellenbosch and Cape Town Universities, and a scholarship to study in Austria this year. He has performed as principal cellist and soloist with the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and has recently toured Vietnam (Hanoi) with the World Youth Orchestra. Pianist Peter Lewis is an alumnus of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, and Oxford University Music School UK.

A recital of much-loved European and Brazilian music for Cello and Piano, by S`celo-Chris Njapha (Cello) and Peter Lewis (Piano). S`celo-Chris is an award-winning "rising star" performer, principal cellist and soloist with the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Peter Lewis is an alumnus of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, Belgium, and Oxford University Music Faculty, UK. They will play music by Bach, Brahms, Faure, Rachmaninov, Villa-Lobos, and Dvorak. The venue, "Earthbox", is a unique ancient and intimate underground space in earth created by immense geological forces, aeons before the appearance of homo sapiens under African skies.
