The Stellenbosch University Chamber Choir was founded in 2014 by Dr Martin Berger. This year marks the choir’s 10th anniversary. SUCC is an integral part of the SU Department of Music, and its members are experienced choral singers who strive for the very best in vocal ensemble performance. The choir takes a multi-ethnic approach to choral singing and sings in almost all of South Africa's official languages.
SUCC will be performing a variety of works by composers, old and new as well as local and abroad, including Os Justi (Anton Bruckner), Loof die Here (from H. Pieter van der Westhuizen’s motet), Gebed aan die Nuwe Maan (Hendrik Hofmeyr), ‘n Paternoster vir Suid-Afrika (Antoni Schonken), Song and Arirang (Kim Shin). A vibrant variety of African choral arrangements will also be performed under the direction of Lunathi Ncamani.
This concert brings together different styles of works from across the globe and from South-Africa in a unique fashion. Come and enjoy a celebration and unity of beautiful music – both timeless and relevant for today.
