Tygerberg City Choir and Cape Town Male Voice Choir will join forces to present the best of their repertoires of 2024, as well as something new. Musical director Peter Roux has decided to add a bit of French and Italian flair: Va Pensiero, the Slave Chorus from the opera Nabucco by Verdi; Cantique de Jean Raccine ,a composition by Gabriel Fauré, with the text a French paraphrase by Jean Raccine of a Latin hymn; Dirait-on, composed by Morten Lauridsen, featuring lyrics by poet Rainer Rilke; Psaume 24, composed by Lily Boullanger with the intention of creating a musical setting for the text of Psalm 24, as well as E piu ti penso (The more I think of you), written by Ennio Morricone.
