This year’s Festival Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by the charismatic Dutch conductor, Antony Hermus. They will open with the rousing overture, Fountain of Youth, by Julia Wolfe written in 2019. Then Bulgarian pianist, Emanuel Ivanov who rose to fame after winning the first prize at the 2019 Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition in Italy, will play Ravel’s attractive Piano Concerto in G major. The concert will conclude with Brahms’s much-loved expansive First Symphony.
