The lecture was inspired by an exhibition at the British Museum in 2022. In recent years Stonehenge has been a source of intensive research. Drawing on modern scientific techniques, combined with an increased knowledge of the larger European neolithic world, and ethnographic influences from countries like Madagascar, our understanding of the long history of Stonehenge has been transformed.
Elizabeth van Heyningen will attempt to explore some of these developments.
