Under the expert direction of critically acclaimed director Robin Williams, this classic tale unfolds in a drought-stricken Midwest town, where Lizzie Curry, played by the remarkable Vanessa Grebe, has resigned herself to a loveless future.
Her family’s matchmaking efforts seem futile until Starbuck, a charismatic drifter portrayed by Francois Theron Malan (Franky of Franky & The Misfits), arrives, promising rain—for a price. But what he truly offers is hope, challenging Lizzie to dream beyond practicality and embrace the possibility of love


The stellar cast features Gqeberha’s finest talents, including Paul Leonard as H.C. Curry, Arthur Daniels as Noah Curry, and Matthew Hamilton as Jim Curry. Bennie Gerber takes on the role of Deputy Sheriff File, while a special mention goes to Mike McConnell, whom we are delighted to welcome back to the stage after two decades as he takes on the role of Sheriff Thomas.
