The final round of the 6th SA Conductors’ Competition features three of seven young conductors, chosen from the initial 16, who have received master classes from Maestro Arjan Tien.
They are, in alphabetical order, Jason Atherton, Joshua Louis, Stuart Martin, Damien Philander, Chevonne Plaatjies, Lesedi Sibanda and Grant Snyman.

Mozart Horn Concerto No. 4 in E flat, 1st mvt with Shannon Thebus as soloist

Mendelssohn Italian Symphony 1st mvt
Koussevitzky Concerto for Double Bass in F-sharp minor, Op. 3, 1st mvt with Roxane Steffen as soloist

Mozart Jupiter Symphony 1st mvt
Rossini “Una voce poco fa” from Il Barbiere di Siviglia with Brittany Smith as soloist.

While the judges are deliberating, Liam Burden will conduct the CPO.

The winner will be awarded a cash prize, the title and a trip to the Netherlands to study further with Maestro Tien.
