Tshika focuses on bloodlines. How culture, tradition and trauma are carried from one generation to another. Through MfanaNdoda, we gain a deeper insight into the pain children have when they grow up without their fathers and how they, in turn, become absent fathers. Men who are not present in the lives of their children. The play interrogates what men were, traditionally and what men are now. It looks at the legacy of trauma and how men deal with loss. Can the sons of this soil find healing and become a part of the healing for the people?
