Purple Con is a one-day event inspired by Comic-Con that is scheduled to take place on 26th July 2025 in the North–West University Vanderbijlpark Campus, promoting Cultural diversity, pop culture, Gaming, E-sports and Arts and Culture Activities through Cosplay, comic review and sales and Gaming tournaments of the world’s most famous games. This convention will showcase various activities that appeal to students of all backgrounds. People aged 12- 40 years are the main attraction to this event as it will be open to everyone and not limited to NWU students.

Get ready for an electrifying celebration of gaming, anime, and pop culture at Purple Con 2025, hosted at NWU Vanderbijlpark Campus! This year’s event brings fans together from across the region for a thrilling day of spectacle, community, and creativity.
While the stage belongs to the main gaming tournament finalists, the crowd will have plenty to enjoy — from interactive stalls and anime merch to cosplay showcases and highenergy paintball battles.

• Main Gaming Tournament: Featuring fan-favorite titles including FC 24 and Valorant – watch as top teams go head-to-head in high-stakes showdowns!
• Fandom Stalls: Explore vibrant stalls with anime collectibles, fan art, gaming gear, and local crafts.
• Paintball Arena: Suit up and dive into thrilling outdoor action with your squad in our dedicated paintball zone!
• Cosplay & Fan Culture: Snap pics with incredible cosplayers and immerse yourself in South Africa’s growing fandom scene.

Whether you’re a casual fan or full-on superfan, Purple Con 2025 is your space to connect, play, and vibe with the community. There’s no entry to the tournament, but everyone is welcome to spectate, shop, and participate in the fun.
At Purple Con, we are excited to announce the introduction of a dedicated Business District, providing a platform for student-owned businesses to showcase their products and services. This initiative aims to support and highlight the entrepreneurial talents within our student community, offering them the opportunity to gain exposure and connect with a wider audience.

In addition to student ventures, we are also inviting external vendors to apply for stall spaces. Whether you are selling food, anime merchandise, computer accessories, or offering services such as haircuts, we welcome all business types to be part of this vibrant and diverse marketplace. Purple Con is not only a celebration of anime and pop culture but also a space to support and promote local enterprise.
