‘The Routes of Sound’ is an annual, late-winter, weekend-long, bite-sized music event at Spier. Each evening 6 small audiences of 30 people will rotate amongst a series of cosy, atmospheric venues on the farm – the cow shed, the historic manor house, the old wine cellar, for instance – sampling the music of a range of very talented local artists performing unplugged. Participating musicians this year include: Luh’ra, giuliette price, Taleswapper, Ntokozo Zwane, Odwa Bongo and Jak Thomas with the experience culminating in a concert with The Herbie Tsoaeli Quintet, with Herbie on bass and vocals and Buddy Wells on sax. Time: 19.30 - 22:00 on Friday and Saturday 15:00 – 17:30 on Sunday Ticket price includes wine tasting. No Under 18’s
For lovers of music and lyrics, it should be a treat to snuggle up in front of a hearth with a glass of Spier wine, immersing themselves in different sonic worlds. The spotlight is not on commercial radio music, but on quality listening music that folks would probably not encounter elsewhere.
