The triptych HOMINAL / XXX is research initiated in 2015.
By conceiving unexpected collaborations with another artist, Marie-Caroline Hominal aims to build a corpus of works questioning appropriation, transformation and sources of creativity.
Choreographers and performers Nelisiwe Xaba and Marie-Caroline Hominal first crossed paths as students at London's Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Their professional paths continued to intersect over the years at various international festivals.

This long-standing connection culminated in a formal collaboration in 2019, when Hominal invited Xaba to co-create the piece Hominal / Xaba. The work premiered at Geneva's La Bâtie Festival and has since been presented across Switzerland, France, Belgium, South Africa, and Canada.
