Join us for an entertaining evening of behind-the-scenes stories, insights into the top drivers of yesterday and today - and what makes them great! – with Formula 1 and endurance racing legend Emanuele Pirro.
He knows the stories behind the stories of international motorsport – because he was there! – and at 19:00 on Thursday 11 December at the Killarney Clubhouse he tells it like it was, for a select group of racing enthusiasts.
For most racing drivers, Formula 1 is the pinnacle of their career; for Emanuele Pirro, it was just the start!
After three years in Formula 1, he transitioned to sports-car racing; between 1999 and 2008 he won the Le Mans 24 Hours five times, the American Le Mans Series championship twice, the 12 Hours of Sebring twice and the Petit Le Mans three times.
He is currently the President of the FIA Single-Seater Commission, and a member of the FIA Safety Committee, Drivers’ Commission, FIA Circuits’ Commission, and the ACI Circuits and Safety Commission. He is also President of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Club.
He has recently co-authored a book with WPMC President Dr Greg Mills; “The Essence of Success” which explores just what it takes to achieve leadership success, be it in motorsport, business, war or politics. Signed copies of the book will be available at the event, at R390 each – or you can pre-order your copy along with your ticket via Webtickets, at a discount.
Joining us on 11 December is South African racing legend Geoff Mortimer, for an evening of motorsport insight and history. Dr Mills has recently completed a limited-edition biography - “The Left and Right Stuff” – about Geoff’s storied 70-year career in motorsport. These will also be on sale at the event.
Light snacks, tea and coffee are included and a cash bar will be available – but seats are limited, so book now!
